A wonderful opportunity exists within our clients company located in Chicago. We’re looking for an Assistant VP, of Culinary Services to lead the food and beverage operations for for a boutique styled, high-end Senior Living organization. The talent we seek will develop programs, and deliver superb cuisine and a 5-Star dining experience to the company’s Residents.
As the Assistant VP, Culinary Services, you will be responsible to:
- Develop innovative and industry-leading Food and Beverage programs and techniques.
- Establish relationships within the Company that support the operations through maintaining standards for food production and menu development through company purchasing programs and initiatives such as quality improvement (QAPI), certification and training programs, development of third-party relationships, marketing and PR.
- Develop metrics and provide analysis for monthly labor and food costs.
- Ensure kitchen and dining room safety and sanitation to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Oversee selection of food, equipment, vendors and contracts for highest quality and favorable cost.
- Act as company liaison for Group Purchasing Agreements (GPO) monitoring community compliance with purchasing programs and provide substantive feedback to senior management on a bi-annual basis.
- Manage kitchen and dining room design.
- Assess resident satisfaction of food and beverage services and products and oversee improvement action plans.
- Develop and support systems-based development and technology enhancements.
- Develop and monitor all training and certifications programs for both front and back of the house.
- Direct and support all front and back of the house training for management and service staff in independent living, assisted living, skilled care and memory support dining venues.
- Help to identify and maintain financial parameters of annual operating budgets through strategic planning.
- Work in concert with the care center administrator and corporate functional leads to ensure and maintain a consistent “survey ready” environment and achieve deficiency free surveys.
Job Requirement for the Assistant VP, Culinary Services
- Qualified candidates will possess 10-years food and beverage management experience directing high quality, multi-site food and service operations.
- Knowledge of industry technology including POS, inventory, and kitchen planning systems.
- Knowledgeable in all service techniques for front and back of the house.
- Strategic thinker, problem solver, excellent communicator.
- Management of third-party vendors.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Hotel/hospitality/culinary degree preferred.
- CDM, CFBE or CHE preferred.
- Ability to travel 40% is required.
