The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures that the Senior Living community is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition for residents, guests and employees. As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will supervise the Housekeeping staff and work to maintain expectations for cleanliness.
Housekeeping Supervisor duties and requirements:
- The Housekeeping Supervisor will possess good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Previous institutional cleaning experience is required.
- Prior experience supervising staff preferred.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with all including residents, families and fellow team members.
- Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must possess a high degree of personal accountability, responsibility and the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must commit to the Mission and Core Values of the organization.
- Supervises Housekeeping and Laundry staff, to include preparing work schedules, providing on-the-job supervision, and selecting, evaluating, recognizing and disciplining staff members as required.
- Maintains price list of supplies and records of cost and usage of supplies. Dispenses supplies according to need.
- Maintains safeguards for the care, storage, and use of supplies and equipment. Trains Housekeeper’s accordingly.
- Makes regular rounds of the community to inspect for cleanliness.
- Ensure that resident rooms are prepared for new admissions.
- Assure distribution of residents’ clothing and linens.
- Attends meetings as required by Administrator.
- Will fill in as Housekeeper, Janitor and Laundry Worker if needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Administrator.
